(i.) Certificate Course in Basic Computer Usage.
This is a 6-week course designed for people with little or no computer knowledge.
(ii.) Intermediate Certificate Course in Basic Computer Usage.
This is a 3-month course designed for people who need advanced level knowledge in the use of computers. Such persons should already have basic computer knowledge.
(iii.) Certificate Course in Basic Computer Networking.
This is a 6-week course designed for people who already have basic computer knowledge but are interested in knowing how to connect a computer to a network, do basic configuration and trouble shooting, etc.
(iv.) Intermediate Certificate Course in Basic Computer Networking
This is a 3-month course designed for people who want to have an advanced knowledge in Computer Networking. Such persons should already have basic knowledge in computer networking.
The DICT is a two-year programme designed for individuals interested in acquring skills in ICT necessary for professional practice. The specialization areas include;
i. Diploma in Database Managememt
The graduates of this speciality would be able to design and implement Database Management Systems (DBMS) to manage small or large bodies of information in private or public sectors.
ii. Diploma in Hardware Management
The course is aimed at equiping partcipants with basic skills of installation, use of maintenance tools, preventive maintenance of hardware components, and diagonistic techniques involved in corrective maintenance and installations.
iii. Diploma in Library and Information Management
This speciality is aimed at training middle level manpower in the area of Library and Information Management with requisite skills in ICT.
iv. Diploma in Networking
This speciality is aimed at equiping partcipants with technical knowledge and skills necessary for installation and maintenance of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
v. Diploma in Web Application Development
This speciality will teach participants how to program both in client and server-side scripting, and how to integrate programs with web server and database technologies when constructing websites.
Interested candidates should obtain the application form with non refundable sum of one thousand five hundred Naira (N1, 500) each from the Cash Office of Bursary Department, Bosso Campus.
Candidates are expected to fill their course of chioce (any one from the above listed programmes) after obtaining the form.
Completed application forms should be submited to the Secretary, ICT Centre, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano.
A special arrangement is being made to accommodate undergraduate students who are interested in Cisco Certification programs.
Entry Requirement into the Diploma in ICT Programmes
(i) Four credit passes in English and Mathematics and any two other subjects from WAEC,NECO,NABTEB and Teachers Grade II certificate.
(ii) Mature Candidates with at least five years of relevant experience in the proposed field who had attempted SSCE are eligible for admission.
(iii) Advanced certificate in computer science not below Lower Credit from a recognized institution in addition to credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.
