PG STUDENTS DONATE BOOKS TO FUTMINNA

In fulfillment of the promise made by the Postgraduate students of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension Technology, Federal University of Technology, Minna to donate books  in commemoration of the 45th Inaugural Lecture delivered by Prof. Job Nmadu, the students have

donated six textbooks worth about N100,000.00 to the Departmental Library to support teaching, research and learning.

Presenting the books on behalf of the donors on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mrs. Halima Sallawu said that the donation was to appreciate Prof. Nmadu for his guidance, mentoring and all the necessary assistance they received from him during the course of their studies, which she said can never be quantified. The books are of various categories particularly in the field of Agricultural Science and Technology.

Mrs. Sallawu also commended FUT, Minna for the knowledge impacted on them which has changed them both morally and academically.

In his response,  the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji, FNSBMB, FAS, appreciated the students kind gesture and pledged that the books would be put into proper use.

Prof. Akanji noted that the occasion cannot be gloss over because they use their money buying books because they felt they benefited from guidance and mentoring in the University.

He also use the occasion to inform them that those applying for certificate, the maximum period it would take them to get it is two (2) weeks.

Present during the presentations were members of staff of the Department.
