The brief flag-off ceremony took place on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the School premises.

Speaking before flagging off the project, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Bala fsssn expressed appreciation to WASCAL CC & ALU students and Board members for identifying with the community through the renovation of the primary school which he noted would produce leaders of tomorrow.

The Vice-Chancellor who was represented by the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Mathew Kolo urged the community to reciprocate the efforts of WASCAL CC & ALU by putting the project to judicious use and to maintain the project.

In her address at the event, the Director, WASCAL CC & ALU, Prof. Appolonia Okhimamhe said the deplorable state of the primary school was discovered by the Batch C students of WASCAL CC & ALU in their bid to address the problem of the community within the context of climate change and decided to assist the pupils who were receiving classes under the tree.

“We were impressed by the little efforts of the WASCAL CC & ALU Batch C students to improve the standard of education at the rural area and we all decided to contribute towards the project”. She stated.

The Director disclosed that the project is one of WASCAL CC & ALU contributions to the development of education at the primary level while noting that the renovated classrooms would enhance the quality of education in the school.

She called on philanthropists, individuals and private sector to continually support government efforts at enhancing the standard of education in the country by giving back to their Alma mater.

Delivering his vote of thanks, the Dagacin Busugi, Alh. Mohammed Isah expressed gratitude to the officials of WASCAL CC & ALU for coming to the aid of the school and assured them that the renovated building would be put to good use.
