Speaking during the visit, the Ameer of the MSSN, Ibrahin Abdulmum’min, a 500 level student of the Department of Mathematics, said the purpose of the visit was to show their sincere gratitude for the role the Vice-Chancellor has played towards enlightenment and guidance of the Muslim community in and around the institution.

He also pledged their support by being law abiding students of the University and in any other way possible. He added that the Society is very interested in hearing the VC’s fatherly advice to the Society.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, fsssn, appreciated and congratulated all the Executive members, adding that, leadership is a burden and at the end of the day, whatever a person does would be accounted for in this world and hereafter. He urged them to take it as a responsibility, as it is a sign of the confidence other members of the Society have in them.

Prof. Bala who recalled that, for a very long time, the Management has not had any problem with the Society in terms of general conduct, which has made the Management very happy in the way they conduct themselves and assured them of the Management support in making their stay in FUT, Minna comfortable.

The VC urged them to continue to keep the peace and draw the attention of others to peace as Islam is a religion of peace, because without peace, there can be no progress.

Prof. Bala further said that the Mosque is supposed to be a home for everybody in a manner that feels welcoming. He advised the Executive members to show the initiative in embracing everybody.

The Society also presented an award of honour to the Vice-Chancellor for in appreciation of his support.
