AUTOMOBILE TECHNICIANS SEEK MORE TRAINING

The State Chairman of the Association, Mr. Ayuba Oluobor said the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the VC on his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of the University and that the association is aware of the fact that FUT, Minna is one of the best universities in West Africa.

Mr. Oluobor appreciated the University on behalf of the association for doing so much in terms of training and hoped that the existing relationship which started years back between them continues.

He appealed to the VC for support and assistance to continue with the training of their members in the Entrepreneurship Centre, while also seeking for a Mechatronic Centre so that members of the association who are interested to learn more will get familiar with the new technologies in order to refresh their brains.

The State Chairman thanked the Management for the opportunity to visit, adding that the association comprises artisans, technicians, mechanics among others, with its Headquarters in Abuja.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, fsssn, thanked the Association for the felicitation, adding that it is going to be easy working with the association as NATA is a grassroots organisation.

Prof. Bala said, FUT, Minna was essentially established to meet the nations desire for self-reliance in science and technology and the University has the mandate of community service in reaching out to members of the public to make technology and expertise available to the people in need of it.

The VC added that he is happy for the existing relationship between the University and NATA, assuring them that the University has a range of expertise and the centre would be more empowered with the provision of additional facilities and equipment.

“The University should be a place where members of the community could come in and get what they desire,” he stated.
