As part of activities lined up to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the University Staff School, FUT, Minna, the Management and staff of the School led by the Headmistress, Mrs. Elizabeth Sode-shinni on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 paid a courtesy visit to the University Principal Officers.
The University Staff School team were received at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, Senate Building, Main Campus.
Speaking during the courtesy visit, the headmistress, Mrs. Sode-shinni commended the University Management for their support to the school, adding that the support from the past and present administrations have contributed immensely to the successes recorded by the school.
The Headmistress disclosed that the School’s alumna are now professionals in their chosen fields of endeavours while stating that since inception the school has raised the bar of primary education in the state and beyond.
She further appealed to the University Management to assist the School in addressing the problems of poor water supply, school bus and shortage of personnel.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji FNSBMB, FAS, congratulated the Management, staff and pupils of the School for coming this far and for contributing their own quota to the educational development of the state and Nigeria at large.
Prof. Akanji disclosed that the School has always made the University proud in terms of academic and extra curricula activities.
The Vice-Chancellor assured them that the University Management would look into the different challenges facing the School, with the view of addressing the problems.
The University Staff School, FUT, Minna was established on January 28, 1987 with the motto “Excellence is our goal.”
